About the work I'm doing with this site

Between Two Firewalls is my outlet for sharing hard won thoughts on cybersecurity, privacy, Linux, and the odd "something else" independent of any of the writings and recordings I do for my employer. The site's topics are a combination of my professional passions and some of my personal ones, shared in hopes they'll inform and ever so slightly entertain.

Both cybersecurity and privacy are topics that are so extremely important to our daily lives and yet so poorly understood and acted upon. I've been a security practitioner since about 2002, and that has helped inform my views on privacy for some time. I started using Linux some years later, probably around 2008 in part as I was looking to take back some security and privacy, perhaps this blog can assist you in doing so as well.

I launched this site in May of 2024, and I don't yet know how often I'll publish. If you want to be notified when I do, your best choice would be to subscribe to receive email notifications when I do. Subscriptions are currently free of charge and offer full access to the site. I'll never use your information to try to market to you or sell to you. You have my word.

Other Ways To Interact

I'm active on LinkedIn, if you would like to connect there. I am not, perhaps, as active as I should be on Mastodon, but that's the other place I'd encourage you to connect with me. If you manage to find me on any other social media sites, please know that those are my "personal" accounts, and I will appreciate you respecting the difference.
